I had finally come home. My two story house stood right in front of me. I was afraid to walk inside. What was my mom going to me? I walked slowly to the door. I put my hand on the nob, turning it like I was in a horror movie. "Im ready," I told myself, "You lived with your mom for so long. It's not like she'll do something terrible. She will probably just ground me for like a month." I took a deep breath, preparing myself for whatever was going to happen. I finally had the courage to walk in. The house was quiet, as if it had been empty for so long. "Mom!" I screamed loud enough so she can hear me. I walked in the dining room and saw the plate I left there from this morning. I grabbed it and put it in the kitchen sink telling myself to wash it later. Then I saw a note on the kitchen counter.
I picked it up and was surprised on what it said.
"Hi sweetheart,
As you can tell I am not home, but I will be. I am taking a night shift at work today.
There are left overs in the fridge if you get hungry. Don't worry I am not mad about you getting detention.
-Love Mom"
